Macbeth

Macbeth

A Poem by Glarthir

My heart will always know it was a crime,
Alas my dear Duncan it was foretold.
I washed your blood off as if it was grime,
I will now watch my horrific actions unfold.
Will Banquo suspect anything amiss?
Will my Lady regain what she has given for my cause?
Nat to him, my life shall be filled with bliss.
Nay to her, she will only give me unwanted applause.
Disgrace does truly wear a pretty face,
Which I do hate with all of my love.
And the blood! It has such a wicked taste!
But I shall learn to rise above,
The darkness that has surrounded Scotland's throne.
The road ahead is great for me, but greatly unknown.

Author's Note

Glarthir
As you can tell, this is a poem about Macbeth. I wrote it in grade 11 whilst reading Macbeth, obviously. It was one of my first poems I wrote because I wanted to, so...yeah. The teacher loved it, and I got the best mark for something that took me all of ten minutes, so I don't much care what you think. If you have good comments, comment. If you have bad comments, go die.
