Close my eyes and lean
my head back. I breath in, slow and deep, taking in as much of
him as I could. Quiet laughter sounds around us, but together we are
alone. I feel him as he turns to face me, his arms surround me in
gentle embrace, protecting me from cold cold night. The sky long
since had drawn over us a curtain of darkness, threatening nothing
but to yield way to the stars as they peered through the wispy
clouds.
I open my eyes to gaze at him, and he draws closer, his
breath tantalizing me. I watch him watching me, reading me with pools
behind which lie feelings and thoughts easily discerned by the way
his eyes met mine. He edged closer, discarding his comfort for mine
as we sit atop the rocky hill. He smiles at me as he closes in, his
breath becoming the only air I breathed. Our faces slowly meet,
tickling his nose with my lashes. Now I smile. He's quietly stroking
my cheek with his fingers, his lips. Mine meet his, and we kiss
softly. Now he pulls away, smiling once more. I readjust the
butterflies in my all of me as he readjusts in his stony seat.
This
time we're even closer, our arms entangled. My hand in his cool
fingers. Sighing softly together, always together, we move in again.
This time he kisses gently my face, my nose, my forehead. He
furtively hoping I enjoy the attention as he enjoys giving it. I
reach in for another kiss. Happiness dancing inside. Taking the
moments, the hours, as they pass in swift pace. Trying to grasp that
this moment was the briefest eternity we would ever know, it seeming
to last forever, but ending so early. And soon, both knowing this
night was over, we stand, hand in hand, and make our way down the
windy dirt path.
