Darkness

Darkness

A Poem by Yemaya Theresa

Life can't be seen on a Moonless night.

No light to glisten off the tears that you shed in the dark.

Just dusty memories stored in the Archives of the mind.

Just the stillness of the night to keep you company.

Just the nothingness or so it seems.

There are always things in the dark you cannot see.

Whether good or bad they are there.

Looking.... Listening.... Waiting....

Those things of the unknown that people fear.

Things that they are not brave enough to try to understand.

They pray for the mercy of the light to come so not to be alone with the emptiness.

Holding their Rosaries & Crosses to keep the Demons from closing in.

With little knowing that the things they fear to face the most....is within.

There is nothing to fear in the dark except who you truly are.

You must embrace the Darkness within to appreciate the Light.

Light,,,, Dark.... one can not exist without the other.
