MaMa Ocean

MaMa Ocean

A Poem by Yemaya Theresa

Mother of the Ocean, I am your humble child.

Teach me, guide me, show me the way.

I yearn to walk upon your shores once more.

To lay in your gentle waves and have you cradle me.

To purify my soul with your salty tears.

The Beauty of your effervescent waters calms me.

I hear the whispers of your story upon the waves.

Your depths a dark mystery.

Left only to your sea children to know.

You are within me, as I am of you.

Mama you must cry for what has become of us all.

Your unruly children who have forgotten about you.

Polluting you with their ignorance & greed.

I am sorry Mama Yemoja, I honor you always.

Goddess, the giver of life, Protector of Wombmyn & children.
