Not So Innocent

Not So Innocent

A Poem by Yemaya Theresa

You the not so innocent.

You may think you are, but you are not.

You are as guilty as your precious Golden Boy.

The favorite child who could do no wrong.

Oh believe me when I say, he is a demon in disguise.

There was no protection for this little girl.

Day by day fighting for her innocence.

As you turned a blind eye, to the scratches & bruises.

Excuses you say, oh she is just a tom boy.

You closed your ears to her pleas to take her with you.

As you make your nightly late night visit to Grandma's for coffee.

Who leaves there 6 yr & 8 yr old alone at night.

Leaving a scared little girl in the Lions Den.

To sufferer unspeakable acts for 8 long years,

at the hands of the child who could do no wrong.

As I grew older, could hold these lies & secrets no longer.

I spoke my truth, but you turned a blind eye.

Excuses you say, but he was a child himself.

Not minding that a child with no soul can do unspeakable evils.

Oh believe me when I say, he is a demon in disguise.

You closed your ears to my pleas to be heard.

I was the B***h the Demon, how dare I.

To tell these stories of their precious Golden child.

Get over it, forget about it. It was not as bad as you say.

Not as bad, only punishable by law.

My Heart carries scars of the deepest kind.

This little girl who learned to love & protect herself.

She grew up, spoke her Truth Loud & Strong.

She no longer needs anything from those who think they are innocent.

She is Free to Soar & Speak Out against those who are not so Innocent.

this is amaizing, a poem about how parents turn a blind eye to the wrong doings of their favorite child. not knowing they are scaring the child for life, leaving them feeling like a worthless piece of trash, this is so very wonderful.

It's amazing how we can write so beautifully about something so horrorible. Only a survivor sometimes understands or should I say is willing to understand. Good Luck!

this reeks of actual experience. mu heart goes out to you. A story which is too often repeated. Why parents can not bring themselves to believe thier angel child can do no wrong baffles me. Usually they gon to greater crimes from which Mama cant protect them.Bright blessings to you
