Oh there are so many lines, that are so brilliant in this one Sarah, great metaphorical insight, and creativity. This write tells me, it's about love, and love that is too late, or not worth it to hang as beautiful in this gallery, but maybe better, because, all that hangs there, isn't private... and sometimes, a silence between two, can make things much better... again a write that makes you think, and ponder, loved reading it.

the bitter and oh so sad part of settling. this is an amazingly write filled with indecision of what love is or should be. you are an amazing writer and your heart has always been your best tool for your art.

Thank you so much, Mark...you really have no idea how much this means to me.
Not everyone appreciates art the same...and not everyone sees love the same. Some romances are flamboyant, vivid colors, gilded frames and are served best displayed in a fine gallery for all the world to see while other romances are, subtle, tender, caring and quietly beautiful and do just fine being displayed on the side of a refrigerator with a heart shaped magnet. But in the end, love is love and it is all beautiful. Very nicely penned Sarah. Still I am in awe and leave amazed after reading your work.
This is lovely. I enjoyed your use of parts of speech in such a clever manner. I thought this stanza was quite telling:
i can’t shake the feeling
that my shades are always half drawn
because too much sunlight
would ruin this romance
The harsh light of day would cast sharp outlines on all that disarray. Then again I'm not a fan of all art galleries. I find that allusion to be a conundrum in itself. Well done, as always.
Its just around the corner, never to be found and if it were here among us, it would get contaminated and taken for granted, tis human nature, best leave it where it is I suppose. However in contradiction to this if we didn't strive for perfect love we might end up with something worse in real life, best keep our sights high, just in case:-)
Ah, but there is belief. And I've got to say that this is gallery quality and prestigious galleries at that. If indeed you wish to be shown in some of those. In short it is, as I always think of your writing up there with the best art of any.
The last two lines of this poem remind me of the critics, who are overly pompous in their zeal to proclaim something art or not. Often, what they consider art, I consider trash; and what they consider unworthy of attention, I often like.
Having said this, in my humble opinion, your work is superlative. I always find something insightful and beautiful within your poetry. This one is nigh to bursting with so many wonderful lines: “a participle dangling her feet in water,” “a noun searching for his lost adjective,” “a tree without the tall,” “I can’t shake the feeling that my shades are always half drawn,” etc. Come on! OMG! If this isn’t gallery quality in poetic form, then, I don’t know what is.
As always, it is a pleasure to read your work. Each poem is a page in the book of your mind, and it always proves to be a fruitful exploration.
