Poetry in MeA Poem by Girl Friday (Sarah W.)There is poetry within me -- my
midnight visualizations echo rivers, like
the blood-letting of words flowing through
corridors of lofty peaks, pooling
in a mirror loch that reflects the
cracking of a limitless sky. There is poetry within me -- as
I tip the kettle and pour my morning brew into
a fractured cup of inexhaustible imagery, cream
spinning like a pinwheel of simile, as
I look to the west and muse upon a
world driven by gears and unrealized art. There is poetry within me -- drumming
an ever constant wing-beat of
insatiable compulsion to simply
write, to
build lines, like the framework of cathedrals, to
create until my eyes sting and my hands ache: these
morphemes are my obsession realized, these
words my healing salve applied
liberally. © 2013 Girl Friday (Sarah W.)Reviews
