RemaindersA Poem by Girl Friday (Sarah W.)close
your eyes as the sealing of shutters when
night falls in slick sonnets about this place cast
aside your supplication save it for
another day instead
build with me a doorway that we may both enter: there
will be time for regret, when winter calls an end to this harvest but
it is summer still our bodies know
better than
our sanity, when seasons are winding away breath
is enough now between us and around our
flesh like the bending of summer wheat golden
beneath a sun meant only for one thing: violent fluorescence we
are the remainders of a daydream an
equation unrounded
and infinite as the bridge of the sky bowing
above the bed that we have stolen the
life we have chosen to live hush
now, love, tomorrow is only a possibility dawn
may never break over this roof
tonight is all that we have © 2013 Girl Friday (Sarah W.)Reviews
