For Her

For Her

A Poem by Girl.
"

I was feeling angry, and then this happened.

"

Blood is thicker than water

That’s what they tell me.

Well they’re wrong.

I believe the correct phrase is: The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb.

That one, well that one is spot on.

Because I owe you nothing.

You deserve nothing.

You are a waste of space on the precious planet we call home.

You are souring the air I am forced to share with you.

You are the epitome of what I strive not to be.

You look no further than yourself,

Because you couldn’t bear trouble yourself with the struggles of anyone else.

You refuse to take responsibility,

You’re filled to the brim with hostility.

You expect me to believe this façade of fragility?

I will not accept this idea that because I possess a piece of your genetic material,

That I ought to bow down and treat you as superior.

You do not deserve what little respect I managed to give you in the past.

Because blood is not thicker than water.

I don’t care what anyone says.

You can disagree, absolutely, feel free.

You can talk your s**t all and all night,

But I've got some news for you,

It won’t change my mind.

You made your bed, and now it’s high time you lie.
