57th Street

57th Street

A Poem by James Jackson

Only once have I had the chance to stroll

This strip of urban movement

Calling to me on a Tuesday

I went there to check it out

Followed my heart to the Q train

It didn’t like my company

Barked at me with a fierceness

I can only explain as “madness”
