We Don't Have To Replace

We Don't Have To Replace

A Poem by G!o
"

This is a song i wrote to a girl i really loved so much at the verge of us breaking up...too bad things really never worked..anyway cheers...its a rock song

"

Do you still remember the day we fell in love?

Do you still remember me taking you to school?

Tossing coin betting on when to have our first kiss

Does the spell of love I cast on you still exist?

Do you still remember us singing to our favorite song?

Do you still miss the days I would force you,

Force you just to take your pictures

[BRIDGE]

To me it is just like yesterday

When we fell in love with each other

Though you insisted you are not the kind of girl for me

At last you said you love me and want me

     Want me with you forever

[CHORUS]

We don’t have to replace laughter with tears

We don’t have to replace hopes with fears

We don’t have to replace our stories with arguments

We don’t have to replace love with something else

We don’t have to replace us with strangers

Do you still want us to spend 100 years together?

Do you still have the pride to say no to another guy?

To say no, no matter how far I am from you

Do you still miss me when you are far from me?

Do you still want me to call your phone?

To call just to say “I love you and I miss you.”

Do you still find me handsome?

Or is the dynamic life making me another portrait?

[BRIDGE]

[CHORUS]

It’s been time since I saw your pretty face

And the loneliness tonight is tearing me to pieces

Sweet dreams have become my nightmares

I miss when we used to think alike

I miss crying to the world to leave you alone

I miss dr. dernelle and jasmine

I don’t want this distance to increase

[CHORUS]

Everything around me it’s just like yesterday

Though it’s been months since us became

Never forget, never leave and never forsake your love for me

Is still my code forever

Remember when I used to say I was afraid?

I was afraid of this time

I hope this won’t be a novel with no happy ending

I hope I won’t be another article in your library

I hope you'll be the girl I spend with my 100 years

There is someone I would like to ask these questions too.. although I am not sure that I would want to spend my forever with them... But back to the review, I think that this is really interesting and well written. I can definitely see it as a song! Thank you for sharing :)

Even though it is lyrics, it should still be categorized as a "poem" not a "story".
I think "you" should be "you'll" in the last line.

This was cool. It had good rhythm and I could picture it clearly as a song.
