Sacrifice to endure

I roll the dice
Decide my fate.
Alas I think
I've made my choice.

I surrender my desires
Of love and happiness
Of children around my feet
I surrender it all.

I know it is not to be
As I have always know
But now I no longer will indulge
In hope and hope alone.

I take my bow
Resign my post
No longer shall I dream.

To be alone
Surely
Can't be such an awful thing?

Hard to say. Alone or surrounded by people? I did both. Today I'm glad I decided not to be alone. I like the reason for the poem. Life is decided by many decisions. In the end.
