Surrender

Surrender

A Poem by Another Mayfly

I give up on it all.
I surrender to the flames.

I cannot bear to suffer anymore,
The torment only grows.
Quiet the shaking of my mind.
Release me, I beg of you.

There is no beauty.
Mankind is lost.

So why does my heart still beat?
Why is there air in my lungs?
Why I must I endure yet more?

Salvation is what I'm waiting for.

Many kinds of salvation.
"Salvation is what I'm waiting for."
Sometime we must find personal salvation. There is beauty and love. Just hidden by the hate and violence the media bring to light. The poem made the reader think and ponder. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
