All For You... No more

All For You... No more

A Poem by Another Mayfly

You were the one who gave me joy
And brought a smile to touch my lips,
And yet it was you,
With cruel intent, who banishes me
To this den of iniquity.

I yearned for you, my heart did long,
Your fire fuelled my very soul,
And yet no more,
Will I submit, and allow your
Growing torment.

For I may not be brave, and stand tall,
Nor demand my true desires,
But no longer shall I,
Pity, and remorse, and weep,
For what I lost in love
I found a stronger heart that beats.

struggling whether or not the 'den of iniquity' works there?

Love teaches us many things. I believe the disappointment of love lost make the value of the true love we shall know. More valuable.
"But no longer shall I,
Pity, and remorse, and weep,
For what I lost in love
I found a stronger heart that beats."
I agree with the above lines. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
