Never Shall I Forget

Never Shall I Forget

A Poem by GingerPocky
"

This was an assignment in my language arts class, I decided to write about my past and my boyfriend who helped me out of it

"
Never shall I forget my darkest days
Days when evil lurked in my gaze
The reflection without eyes
When pain was my only pleasure
A head full of lies
Days of hatred I could not measure
The smell of smoke and burning skin
Days of hopelessness and doubt
The burning fire felt within
Days I would have rather gone without
The taste of evil, a bittersweet nectar
Days of starving and weighing in
When my soul was no longer my protector
Desperately trying to be thin
Most of all, from when my days were grim
Never, ever, shall I forget
Him
The one who came to save me from myself

This topic is such a hard one to write about, as well as one familiar to me, and I admire your ability to capture the feeling of it!

Thank you for your review :)
Loved it, passionately somber with a spectacular ride on each line, I am looking forward to see what sort of direction you take on your next piece, with that sort of ending that's truly all I can really do.

Its lovely...its dark and a certain mystery is attached to it. Will look forward to another piece like this.

Well done poem, I liked how dark it was in the beginning where the speaker felt lost, reading it you just wanted to help them yourself. The ending was a nice touch to it, very good poem, keep it up!

I'm a 17 year old ginger girl who enjoys writing poems and stories. I'm also very lazy about writing and take forever to write something I feel is worth keeping, so I most likely won't be posting new .. more..
