THE FINAL SHOWDOWN OF THE GREATEST SHOWMAN

“Hear ye, hear ye

Hey, look at me

Listen to what I say

I did it my way

Good, better, best

I’m the greatest among the rest

Do you want to know how

Pay attention to me now”

All of these I’ve said and done

Before everything was gone

With arrogance and pride

Nothing did I hide

Showed here and there

Shared it everywhere

It was all about me

How powerful I must be

Hear ye! Hear ye!

Now, look at me

Turned into beast

Others found no rest

A bloodsucker

And a monster

Ready to slay

Run and stay away

Trying to please everyone

How foolish I become

With my selfish ambition

And for self-gratification

Caused others to suffer

Not afraid to murder

Wicked in my kingdom

Yes, that’s who I am

Wait! Wait!

Come on, please wait!

What are these

They’re crawling on my face

Ouch! Ouch!

Stop reaping off my mouth!

I’m the greatest showman

This is not my final showdown

Please don’t let me end up this way

Give me a chance to change my destiny

Make me the kind of person you wanted me to be

Remove all the pride and selfishness in me

If it’s not too late to admit that I’m a nobody

Allow me to brag about your grace and your mercy

I’m the least and you’re the greatest

Please forgive the cruelest beast

Acts 12:1-4 & 19- 23

1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church. 2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword. 3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.) 4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

19 And when Herod had sought for him, and found him not, he examined the keepers, and commanded that they should be put to death. And he went down from Judaea to Caesarea, and there abode. 20 And Herod was highly displeased with them of Tyre and Sidon: but they came with one accord to him, and, having made Blastus the king's chamberlain their friend, desired peace; because their country was nourished by the king's country. 21 And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. 22 And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man. 23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.
