commotion “Oh, come on, what’s going
on!” A cry from a rabble “Where are
the apostles? There’s no
food on the tables!” A call for
silence “Calm down
everyone, please just
cool down! “Something
has to be done here come, let’s
gather around” The twelve
apostles explained “Our priority
is to preach the word to people not to serve you
with food on tables” Before the violent
reaction “Oh, please
don’t get us wrong make us explain
further, A discussion
was done “The work is
too much for us to handle we need seven
men who are reliable” Everyone
looked at each other “Please, try
to understand we need to work
hand in hand” There were seven
names mentioned “Stephen,
Philip, Prochorus, and Nichanor, Nicholas, Parmenas
and Timon.” Together they
stood up “Here we are, willing to
serve you, everyone” These faithful
men were chosen to serve and
to care They didn’t
choose themselves to be there but they were
chosen by people after a prayer This is how
the ministry works more heads

should be done yet titles should
not be coveted by anyone It’s the Spirit

IN THE WORD July 6,

6:1-7 And in
those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a
murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were
neglected in the daily ministration. 2 Then the twelve called the
multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should
leave the word of God, and serve tables. 3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye
out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom,
whom we may appoint over this business. 4 But we will give ourselves
continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. 5 And the saying
pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of
the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and
Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch: 6 Whom they set before the
apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them. 7 And
the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in
Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the
faith. © 2021 Himaya Ka |
