“Too Much Familiarity Breeds Contempt”

If we are not careful, surely to this trap we fall

"

“Too Much Familiarity Breeds Contempt”

Well favored but not perfect

Yet in her mistake

Humbly she accepted

She did not insist

Neither she protested

Was reminded who He is

Returned to her senses

She silently did submit

“Too much familiarity breeds contempt.”

This saying is so true to me and to you

If we are not careful

Surely to this trap we fall

We ought to bear in mind

That though He’s a loving friend

He remains the King of all kings

Our Sovereign Lord and Savior

In our prayers we don’t dictate Him

He’s not a genie to tell what we want

Nor Mr. Santa to grant our wish list

Not even a merchant to do bargaining with

He’s the Father who already had a plan

The Master who already had a command

The Director who already knew the plan

The One who knew the perfect cast for every scene

Ours is to willingly draw near and to desire Him

Ours is to humbly surrender our own wills and dreams

Ours is to discover His plans and His purposes

Ours is to know what pleases Him the most

Then we wait until He acts in our behalf

Then we listen as He begins to speak

Then we follow as He paves the way

Then we enjoy our lives with Him daily

John 2:1-5

1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:

2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.

3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.

4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.

5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
