DAILY IN THE WORD
May 30, 2021 Seek No Recognition Luke 17:9-10 9 Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do. This is another wonderful lesson of humility. It's a great reminder for me to be careful with what I think, how I feel, and how I respond in everything I see and hear from those who are on top. Sometimes we are so quick to identify ourselves as servants of God, but if our effort is not recognized we feel offended in silence. Though we don't say it, but we know that a little ill feeling is felt inside us. This is something that we need to ask the LORD to purify our motives or intentions in everything we do. To be offended when we are not recognized for the things that we do is a sign of immaturity. It simply reveals what's really running in our heart and mind. A servant's heart seek no recognition. He/she does everything to glorify God, not to be praised by people. If we are doing everything for the LORD, there is no way that we will be offended, though it makes us sad, but don't get angry and bitter with anyone or anything: we should make it our goal to glorify the name of the LORD in all our ways. We have to remind ourselves that as Christians, we are meant to lift up the name of JESUS CHRIST in every circumstance. THE PRAYER Dear Jesus, You are the best servant, worthy of all types of recognition. Yet, You did not crave for it, because what matters to You is to live Your life according to the will of the Father. LORD JESUS, please forgive me for the times when I feel a little prick in my heart when my work and effort are not recognized. Please enable me to love everyone the way you love them. Help me to pay attention to You at all times. In Jesus name I pray. Amen! © 2021 Himaya Ka |
