God’s Divine Favor 2

Philippians 4:4-9

4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. 5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Please allow me to reiterate this, Only those who acknowledge and believe the power of the presence of God can experience an extraordinary and supernatural moment with Him. God sees the seriousness and sincerity of our search for Him. He plays no favoritism nor partiality. Our position in the society does not matter to Him. He never listens or pays attention to anyone based on the level of status he or she has in the eyes of the community, for in His eyes and ears, everyone is important. But only few enjoy the benefit of this truth, and these few, are those who believe; those who are determined enough to pursue the Lord Jesus Christ no matter what other people may say or do to them.  The Bible says in Hebrews 12:2 that we have to look unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. Jesus is our perfect example in all things, in every circumstance in our lives, and in every decision that we have to make; we have to look unto Him. The sad truth of this is, the more we seek to follow Christ, the more we look stupid or foolish in the sight of many, most especially to those who did not see what really matters in life in the sight of Christ. Now the question is, what is it that truly matters to Jesus? Well, let us hear from Him and learn from His main purpose for coming here on earth. He came to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10. How did he make it possible? He took up and carried our cross; He suffered for our sins; and He died so that we will be forgiven and be with Him in His glorious Kingdom one day. He did it all because of His love for each one of us. Though He could have done it in such an easy way by using His power, but He did not, for true love is tested and proven in the fire. Our willingness to suffer and to sacrifice for anyone or anything determines how valuable they are to us. Yes, that’s how valuable we are to Christ.

My knowledge and understanding of God’s love for me drive me to love Him back. I love Him because He first love me (1 John 4:19). If we love someone, we cannot stop ourselves from talking about him/her to others, about how good and amazing he/she is. We share our happy talks with him/her to others; not only the good things even our trials with him/her after overcoming them. But we need to be aware that as we do this, not everyone will rejoice with us, most especially to those who are going through some struggles and tough times in their lives. The more we share our good stories, the bigger the tendency for them to be bitter, feel ill with us, and worst, they would think that life or God is unfair. When it happens, should we get offended with them? No, we should not. We pray for them instead; but at the same time, we should not allow their negative opinion about our journey with God to steal the joy and peace that we have in Him. Just because we appreciate the blessings of God in our lives doesn’t mean that everyone will rejoice with us, and just because others are suffering the pain of loss doesn’t mean that we should feel guilty because we are not in their position. We need to keep on believing and trusting that God is good all the time.

Let us continue to share the goodness of God in our lives no matter what. Some may appreciate it, and others may hate us. What matters most is our pure motive to declare God’s greatness in our lives. For He created and saved us to glorify His name. Let’s continue to share the gospel to others according to God’s divine favor in our lives. We may lose our health and life for doing it, but it doesn’t matter for as long as we are doing the Lord’s business, which is to spread the gospel of Christ to our own family, neighborhood, and to wherever the Lord leads us. Just like what Apostle Paul said in Philippians 1:21, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Let’s go out and continue to reach out the lost and make the Word of God as our confidence and protection. For nothing will happen to us apart from God’s approval, and according to His purpose. Matthew 16:25 says For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. Let us remember that this world is not our home, this is not our final destiny, we are just pilgrims here. We have a much brighter future and a perfect life waiting for us in heaven. If we die, we die, so what? We Christians know that we don’t really die, for death means perfection, death means eternal life. 1 Corinthians 2:9 says, “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

With God’s divine favor from the state and the church, let’s continue to share the good news to the mountains, barangays, towns, cities, nations, and to the whole world by sharing whatever we have. We have Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, and we have His hope in our heart. Let’s continue to live our lives for Christ alone!
