IT'S NOT ABOUT US
Daily in the Word Day 3

John 3:30
He must increase, but I must decrease.

“More, more about Jesus” I really love this song. The lyrics is so simple yet profound. I wish everyone who is called to make the name of Jesus known will really take it to heart. I'm not exempted to this, I'm also pointing my four fingers back to me.

As we respond to God's calling in us, the best perks we get from Him for the ministry that He is entrusting to us is to experience His miracles upon miracles. Then people begin to see us someone special. At first it's only a simple admiration; as they continue to witness the power of God in our lives, though we don't ask or convince them, they become our followers; without trying so hard, they learn to trust us, in short we win their hearts. These things are good but if we are not careful, if we get so hooked to each other, no matter how good our relationship is, if Jesus is not the center of that relationship anymore, it can surely destroy all of us. To trust and to be trusted is one of the amazing things that could happen in the journey of Christianity. But we should not forget to point each other back to the most trustworthy God, the LORD Jesus Christ.

The danger of our calling is when people's loyalty is given to us and  they learn to trust us more than God. If this happens, we need to lie low ourselves from each other and refocus our hearts and minds back to Jesus; for God is a jealous God. So let's be quick to notice and discern the red flags in all our relationships, and allow the LORD to reorganize our thoughts, affections and inspirations back to Him.

That's why every time the LORD will enable us to extend help or be a blessing to others, we should not forget to tell them that it's not about us. It's the LORD who makes it possible; we are just the instrument of His love, goodness and kindness. We always bring back to Jesus all the glory, for He alone is worthy to be praised.

LET'S PRAY!

Dear Jesus,

I just want to thank You for who You are. You are the source of all peace, love, joy, and everything we need. It's only by Your strength and power that we could do whatever it is that You are calling us to do. Forgive us dear God, when sometimes we forget to return to You the acknowledgement that You alone who deserves. Father, please help us not to steal Your glory, for indeed, it is so scary to fall at Your wrath. LORD JESUS, please continue to increase Yourself in me, and put me to where I should be. These things I ask and pray, in Jesus name. Amen!
