Forgive Us

FORGIVE US

Our merciful Heavenly Father

 In the mighty name of Jesus 

Today we gather as a family

 Coming boldly into 

Your throne of grace 

Desiring to get right with You 

Longing to have a perfect heart 

Wanting to start our year right

 Please hear us dear God 

As we confess before You 

The trespasses we've done 

Father as Your children 

There are times that we forget 

How blessed we are to have You 

How amazing life is to be with You 

How awesome it is to know You 

We forget how great Your love is for us 

We forget Your goodness in the past

 When problems come, we react 

Like we do not know You 

We panic like You are not with us  

Father as Your people 

We forget that You're not only our Savior 

But You are also our Lord and King 

We are Your redeemed servants 

Yet we act like bosses of our own lives 

We make decisions on our own 

Instead of waiting for Your call 

We listen to our heart's direction 

Instead of the Holy Spirit's instructions 

We manipulate our life's circumstances 

Father as Your bride 

We betray Your trust a lot of times 

There were times that we compromise 

We find ourselves so attached to this world 

Instead of getting excited to be with You 

We wallow ourselves with all the dreams 

That don't really matter to You 

We allow ourselves to be corrupted 

With all the affairs of this world 

We don't prepare for Your coming

 Father as Your family 

We know how much You desire 

For us to be united in all things 

We know how much You prayed 

For Your children to love each other 

But sadly we fail You a lot of times 

When we see ourselves better than others 

When we tend to compete 

Instead of supporting each other 

Oh Father please forgive us! 

Forgive us Oh God for all our sins 

Specially if it's done willfully 

We know it's wrong 

But we still do it 

We know it's not Your will 

But we still insist 

We know what's right 

But we choose to close our eyes 

We know it should be stopped 

But we choose to put our hands off  

Forgive us dear Lord for forgetting You 

When we move ahead of Your plans 

When we do things our own way 

We don't acknowledge Your sovereignty 

We get so impatient with all the delays 

We become wise with our own eyes 

We don't listen to advise 

We ignore the warnings 

We become proud and arrogant 

O Lord please forgive us!

 Forgive us Lord Jesus for denying You 

When we lose our focus on the cross 

We forget what matters most 

We forget that we are pilgrims 

Forgive us Lord Jesus for not doing 

What You are expecting 

Instead of reaching the lost 

We live to satisfy our flesh 

We become lustful 

We don't seek Your face and holiness  

Forgive us dear Heavenly Father 

For not loving our brothers and sisters 

For judging instead of showing mercy 

For condemning instead of giving grace 

Father please forgive us! 

For all the divisions that we created 

For our selfishness and self-centeredness

 For doing things to gratify our egos 

For stealing and coveting Your glory 

 O Father please forgive us!  

Oh Holy Spirit please continue to move 

Make us see and understand all our flaws 

Please search our hearts, Oh God 

For all the unknown sins in the past 

Please make us humble enough 

Not to make excuses but to admit 

Enable us to appreciate all the rebukes 

Oh God, please purify our hearts 

We beg You dear Lord 

Oh please help us Lord Jesus!
