Miles Between Us

Miles Between Us

A Poem by Himaya Ka
"

Things just fall apart A decision to depart "How did it start?"

"
MILES BETWEEN US

A part of me is missing
Deep within I'm searching
A lot of things I'm asking
Why these things are happening

I unite people together
I put things in order
 I am a peacemaker
I am a restorer

But it turned upside-down
Instead of smile a frown
Expectations broke down
Oh the insults of a mocking clown

Things just fall apart
A decision to depart
"How did it start?"
Asked the heart

Attempted to catch up
Tried to patch things up
But the silence shut me up
It told me to give up

No, I didn't want to
But time shouted to let go
Circumstances said just do
But still I answered, "No!"

You may never see
You may never hear me
But one day you will be
Just set yourself free

We may not be together
We may not hear each other
But take heart my dear
This miles between us will soon be over
