The Inner Gavel

Just because you don’t see it happening doesn’t mean that what you’re hearing is wrong. People are free to make their own decisions, but their responses cannot make the Word of God a liar.

THE INNER GAVEL

Psalm 119:169-170

Let my cry come near before thee, O LORD: give me understanding according to thy word. Let my supplication come before thee: deliver me according to thy word.

The chaotic beliefs and principles of man keep yelling and hovering at the atmosphere.  Its poison is spreading continually and it steals the sanity of man. O how I wish I could join with Joy, Chris, and Gizmo in the Superbook Adventure. I want to be transported back to the time of Prophet Elijah, so that I could ask him what I could possibly do to my present world, wherein the miracles and the voice of God is not that relevant anymore to many. For no matter how I convince myself that God is still the same yesterday and today, but the world around me are headed to their own different directions. The inner voice is fixed and sure, but the message without is conversing and translating the exact opposite, that if I’ll go with the flow it’s a sure shutdown of all the faith within.

If I call for an assembly to gather around so that we could prove ourselves who’s hearing the right thing: would they sing, dance, and speak what’s in their mind right on my face without hypocrisy? Would the LORD put a fire on my mouth to consume all doubts and unbelief?  Would the LORD prove me right and they are wrong, or it’s the other way around? If I am wrong, then I should stop listening to the voice within. The question now, whose voice am I listening to? If I will choose to believe that I am just hearing myself, then, where is the authenticity of the promise of the Word? What’s the use of listening if everything I heard is nothing but lies? Where will I go, and what will I do? The questions just go on and on, and it complicates life more.

Do you see it? Life is simpler, if we choose to believe; just believe, then wait! If we do so, then we hear the pounding of the inner gavel within. It calls for peace, and it orders our troubled and bothered emotions. Just keep on believing, for with God nothing shall be impossible! Just because you don’t see it happening doesn’t mean that what you’re hearing is wrong. People are free to make their own decisions, but their responses cannot make the Word of God a liar.

The Word of God shall never be wrong. It is us, who sometimes don’t get the point, because of our impatience: we want it to be now. We don’t like to go through the process: we do it our way. Instead of asking the LORD to give us His grace, mercy, and strength, we tend to bypass His operation, which lead us to the road of destruction. And the funny thing is, we still have the guts to blame Him in the end. Do you see how foolish people are? I do, for I am one of them. But I praise God for who He was, is, and will be. (1 Thessalonians 5:24) In my unfaithfulness, unbelief and doubts, He remains faithful and true, for He cannot deny Himself. It’s in my weakness that I see the strength and the power of His grace.
