A Bottle In The Smoke

A Bottle In The Smoke

A Poem by Himaya Ka
"

Deep thoughts in shallow waters is a pearl on a pig's snout.

"
BOTTLE IN THE SMOKE
(Psalm 119:81-88)

It sounds inverted, but no, it's not!
I won't tell you, it's for you to find out.
Deep thoughts in shallow waters is a pearl on a pig's snout.
If you don't get it, you better not pout.

Cliche! Cliche! Yes, it's a cliche!
Just keep your heart open, there is so much to see!
Don't say it's enough, please, do not flee!
Spread the wings of your mind, if you want to be free!

O such an oppression, like a bottle in the smoke.
Failing! Fainting! Yet, there is hope.
O feet, watch out every landing of your sole.
For the proud is waiting for you to fall into a hole.

Justice! Justice! O justice, dear God!
It's the cry of the humble, the king, Your beloved!
Your judgment, it's all that he had.
In keeping Your statutes and law, forever he's glad.

Just look before you leap!
Please watch out every step!
Don't forget to look up.
He'll tell you when to go and to stop.
