THE PAPA'S GIRL 1

Remembering a father

On this Father’s Day
A papa's girl she was
She jumped on his tummy
She walked on his legs
She took off his shoes

She cherished every moment

To be with her dad is a joy

Her fear was to lose him
To God she whispered a prayer
"Don't take my papa too soon

But if you will

Please prepare me when it comes"

He taught her with a lot of things
Holding a pen, a hammer, and a microphone

Dribbling and hitting a ball

Playing basketball with brothers and papa

Yes, she’s picked to complete the team

He exposed her to billiard games

He trained her how to swim
He showed her how to write
He taught her how to fight
But he didn't teach her not to fright

When everything just changed

When trials came to attack
He wasn't strong enough
To stand in the storm

Instead of facing he didn't stay

He ran away
Yes, He failed her
The superhero was gone

He left her with none

She just couldn't understand

Though he came back but totally different
The perfect father became an alien

Shouts and insults were heard
Something that caused her to dread
So she wished he wasn't there

The papa's girl became a hater
Learning to stand without anyone

Needed to be strong for the mom
Working so hard for the siblings
To play around she did not bother

Then the news came about the father’s death
Unbelievably in his burial no one shed some tears
No feeling of loneliness and grief
To cry or to mourn is nothing but a lie
Yes, not the expected scenario if a loved one would die

What happen to the Papa's girl?
Can you blame her of how she become?

Many things she doesn’t understand
She may look strong outwardly

But there’s so much pain inside
So listen without judgment

Just give her time to heal

One day she’ll be okay
