May Look Good, But Absolutely Not God’s
Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food,
and it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she
took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with
her; and he did eat.
“O,
be careful little eyes what you see!” Sunday school teachers usually teach this
song to kids; it’s a song for kids but the message of the song is actually for
grown up too or even good for mature Christians so to speak. We should remember that Satan was successful in
tempting Adam and Eve by using the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. Not
everything that glitters is gold. It may look so good but absolutely not God’s.
Whatever the world offers to us, we have to think of Jesus righteousness first.
For whatever decision we make, it will surely affect the lives of others. Adam
and Eve’s wrong decision affects the entire humanity, not only yesterday but
even until today. That’s why we should always focus our eyes on Jesus, the
author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). We should not allow our eyes
to be hypnotized with the things of this world, but we have to set our
affection on things above not on things on the earth (Colossians 3:2), “For what
shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
“ (Mark 8:36).
