Islands

Islands

A Poem by Bob
"

No man is an Island but beware. Woman are beautiful and very powerful. A Poem about powerful women and the men they had in the palm of their hands.

"

I am an island once more

Dark clouds looming and ostracized by my kind

All for one moment

All for one mind

I think of her with fond devotion

Is she thinking of me?

No, she is the ocean

I see it now, that milky skin that I ache for

Long tresses of golden locks like silk

Pink lips that that invigorate on your deathbed

And drain life at your wedding

I beg, I cry and I plead in France

Helen come with me across this world at once

Paris is my home now; it was love at first sight

Stolen from me it is a blow to my honour

A declaration of war is my right

Smile, frown, tears and pain

A kaleidoscope of emotions over her face

That sends butterflies to my belly

And pain to my chest

Aphrodite how many of my kind have you slain

Your beauty your love I ache and ache

But what could be better than this pain

She burns brighter than Ra

Her passion more radiant than all of Spain

Her beauty is immeasurable; we can fool her for God does not give with both hands

I am a divine king, the descendant of Narcissus no vixen will ever bring my demise

The King is dead after one night in Cleopatra’s bed

She is more than meets the eye

She will conquer all land and men, she will rule forever

Her reign will spread far and wide

We are alone and no words need be spoke

She undresses slowly and I hold my breath

She’s gonna kill me, I’m gonna choke

Close your eyes for her beauty impales

It’s no use she has a trick for you

Scheherazade will enslave you with her tales

Release me with one night of passion that I lust, crave and yearn

When I’m spent just bury me or burn me in your hands

I’ll gladly become another polished urn

Go to the new world alone but wait for me my love

I fight treacherous water and sea monster all for my Hester

She has betrayed me, I cannot find the tyrant and she is sentenced to die

I want her love no longer but her character has swayed me

Please take my life and spare this brave woman I see not even a tear in her eye

She glides across the ocean and soars beyond the sky

She steps out from the shadows and strikes swiftly

With love and a will more firm than yours or mine

She only leaves her angelic scent

And thereafter every family, every house and every being must repent

She causes war, death and indiscretions

Send her back, murder her go get my gun

But be glad you had her for a second

For she is everything wrapped  in one

And so I am Romeo, Caesar and even Casanova

A multitude of Islands

All swallowed by the beautiful and glorious ocean
