It's about a friend I didn't want to lose. But in reality, I was trying to convince myself I was happy enough he was just a friend, and nothing more.
That solitary, meaningful line.
That sweet, caring embrace.
That precious, heavenly smile.
That expressive, silenced look.
That loving and deep ambiance.
That person I don't want to lose.
O.K., this sticks in my craw (as we say down south) "just a friend and nothing more" in the description. The greatest love of all is friendship. I will tell you why. It is not bound by flesh and blood, nor by vows, licenses or rings. It scoffs at sex as mere grinding of body parts because it knows the truth that two SOULS can touch. It is greater and more powerful than death, stronger than the tempting kiss of any lover. It measures worth by its own sacrifice which is why Jesus said," Greater love hath no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." Laying down your life daily and being there when a friend calls in need, not for thanks or money but just for love. But the poem was wonderful. First time I ever left a review on description more than the piece. lol Blessings.

It's often a few words to make a friend feel reassured that a friend will always be there for us. It may be often times that we count our friends. It's often times that we don't realize or cherish friendships until we need them the most. Your poem is a very simple poem and hold a very small amount of clutter on the line which makes it crisp, clear and an inspiring piece to read. The greatest gift of a friendship seeing that it will last the test of time and its that time is the cherishable part. A good friendship is like wine, often aged in the shadows for us to harbor and cherish so we take a drink of it every once and a while so when we die we get ushered into the bottle and thrown out to sea.
Ah, Gillzy, this is sweet! Good to have special friends who mean more than life, who you can rely to never "judge" you (unless you really deserve it) and who will always been there for you. Friendship -- such an important foundation to support us in our lives. Never take them for granted. If something happens to them, you'll hate yourself for all those moments and words you never had. Cheers! Rob
Things I have realised:
My mother really is the best friend I'll ever have.
Too much alcohol causes some people to be something they aren't, and that includes myself.
That love, no matter wha.. more..
