The Truth Behind A Word

The Truth Behind A Word

A Poem by Gillzy
"

Sometimes it feels like people don't actually mean it when they say things.

"

Words are said and shared,
Every word has a meaning of its own.

Nothing compares to
Hearing a teacher say
“You've passed.”

Words are precious,
But can actions speak louder than them?

A doctor has the power
To relieve a million hearts with
“It's all clear.”

Do you believe them
Until you see the patient
Looking happy?

Words are only small,
They can be said with ease.
You can't wait
To hear your lover say
“I love you.”

The last bit is ironic, I felt words were so easy to say, I found it hard to believe.

I've always believed that talk is cheap, but on the other hand I also believe that communication is very important so what needs to happen is no babbling and throw-away endearments...luv ya...doesn't do it for me...anyway Gillian this is a sensitive and thoughtful piece of writing...the power of the written word is enormous...

Things I have realised: My mother really is the best friend I'll ever have. Too much alcohol causes some people to be something they aren't, and that includes myself. That love, no matter wha.. more..
