Bacon

Bacon

A Poem by Gill Fitzpatrick
"

A short ode to the beloved cured pig meat

"

The savoury smoking smell permeates the air

Sizzling, sliding, smiling, subsists under the grill

Crisp tempered edges, curl and quiver

Waiting to confabulate with allies

An auroral pilgrimage at the break of day

Breakfast, bacon, benevolence
