Still here today

Still here today

A Poem by David McNeeley

I want you to love me
I wantr you to care
but I don't think you know what that means

I am filled with regrets
I am possessed with fear and loss
I am drenched in what should have been

Love is a fickle thing
It's there when it wishes
But give it a taste of something new
and it will be gone with the morning dew

Beauty seems so simple
you take something ordinary
and bend the knee
then all around begin to see

I loved you long ago
i lived a different way than I do today
but I can tell regret is fading away
and what I thought was lost so long ago
is still here today
