Love's Cruel Crushing CrusadeA Poem by David McNeeley
Some sweet subtle sirens sit upon my step singing such sad songs of sailors lost at sea
of heroic hopefuls reborn regetting with remorse long lost loves lost long ago against overwhelming odds of oceanic ogres and neputnes nimble nyx nicking naughty nymphs through trickeries many mischevous mights wisking with watery wiles young satires so strong in sublteties of untold utterances too tasty for far too young youths yeilding in the arms of gods and goddessses young and old alike assuming all who rule what is not understood to be lords and ladies of heaven the same as those today suppose all foreign feelings foul and unfit for fruitful field flooding ahh alas these thoughtful thinking thespians wooing with wonderous words that lilt and linger at last lying on soft settling souls to fill them with sadness or wisdom of a sober kind as awkwardly i step the step past these my daily dandelions do i ponder painlessly what was that that made said maidens mad with such severe sadness to sing such sweet songs filled with hope in softened hearts and now i know that these must know what the pain of heart is so i pray precisely that the hearts headed towards these tattered souls i speak of will without remorse or regret be strong and hold them fast fiercely against what the worlds many mysteries may mishap them that the sirens said of will no longer wail but win in loves cruel crushing crusade and alas feel the love they so surely and fully deserve © 2014 David McNeeley |
