wheni'mdeadandgone

A Poem by David McNeeley

Will you care for my love?
Will you dare touch what is not yours?
Will you be there when I die?
Will you pair together grief and sorrow for my lost life?

When all is as an unending ember
And everyone is but an endlessly empty vessel
When will you care that life's end matters?
And that the ending of it is so unnecessary

My death is a thought o the future
My life is a movement towards that future
My love is a stop that may prolong movement away from that future
My time is short even though now thoughts of my present youth add to the future

How can any think of anything else when there is so much to accomplish now
Where is a man who will stand out and against all that is evil dare?
I want to see all that is good in this world and the reason of its righteousness why
She among all in my search I hope can found be

Oh my lord is this where I step off
Oh God do I stay here on the train or get off
Oh my dearest friend you are up on your throne aloft
Oh king of kings will you care for her when they knock me off

Well my best man who stands in his place
Well can you with an arm of comfort around my love that final day of death face
Well is this ok or am I being too fast paced
Well will it be you who makes my last goblet of wine poison laced

I know I've been cruel
I can even make some drool
I know I've acted like a fool
I can change to a man of powerful rule

Someday you will be big and strong
Someday they will find out they were all so very wrong
Someday from this town I'll be gone
Someday they will make this into a beautiful song

All will fall
All will call
All will not stall
All will at my wedding and funeral
Out their eyes ball
