Dreams

Dreams

A Poem by David McNeeley

Dreams

When reality’s just not enough

Dreams

When Life is just too tough

I feel my life is anything but ordinary

But sometimes when I look back to see what I’ve done

And from where I’ve come

I just want sleep to take me away

Dreams

When all you know is fake

Dreams

When the world’s just too much to take

I’ve seen you so many times

But we’ve never met in what everyone calls the real world

We’ve made love time and again

But our love doesn’t exist here… yet

Dreams

Where love is just a step away

Dreams

Where all I’ve wished for becomes reality

This world is full of flaws and inconsistency

Yet we’re all so sure it’s the right one

That this world will never fade

Where love’s debt can never be repaid

Dreams

Where I hope to be someday

Dreams

Where my heart yearns to stay

Lover I promise never to let you go

Even when they say you’re not real

Girl I’ll love till the day I die

And then I’ll love you some more

Dreams

Where we first met

Dreams

Where our love was born
