DeOnna

DeOnna

A Poem by David McNeeley
"

Stuve

"
I'm alone
Maybe you are too
But I doubt it because you're so pretty
And when they come you're so flirty

So why do I care
Who you're with
What you do
You're my little sister

It's not blood we share
Nor do I fancy you so creepily
But it's time that we share
And I love the way you dance about so freely

They call you names
And do other mean things
But you laugh at them
You know how they feel will soon pass

You're an angel in the darkness
You're a light in the dim decay
You're that spark of life
The thing we all so desire

Now I know you'll grow and this joy will fade
But I hope you still burn as bright then
And let us all know how silly we are
By your dancing in the night
And singing the tune from which we've strayed so far
