MoonshineA Poem by Gillian
We tread light on feet of twinkle toes Beneath The Long Night's Moon, Dashing between the falling beams Of celestial silver blue glare, Trying not to disturb a sinister satellite Taunting with threats of madness and drear - What morbidity orbit above We must avoid 'til rescue dawn - Under the night of December's Frost Moon There's magic in the air, Attempting to float into our veins And lead us to the edge. Awaiting the glimmer of first light - A rising sun coming with relief - Our bated breaths of winter's chill Long for the call of day. When morning comes to fade the fear And as weary bodies droop We'll exalt for minds uncaptured still As another month rolls over. © 2009 GillianReviews
