Lady,Lady Bug

My poem for another weekly poetry prompt contest on FACEBOOK! Written Jan. 11, 2015 Sunday

Beautiful lady you
dance with dressed
winds,

 

Lady bug you wear
a beautiful gown that
glows red with black
polka dots.

 

You brave the storms
and play in the rain showers.

Every year we wait for
spring to come so we
can see your beauty.

 

The tree stumps and
the flowers are your
friends.

 

You're dressed in love
and a calm breeze.

 

The mushrooms and
satin petals are your home.

 

Lady, Lady Bug
you dance gracefully
with the wind.

my grand daughter is almost 13 now but when she was around 6 she accompanied me on a walk around our park .. it was a spring you speak of and the lady bugs were everywhere .. one happened on her shoulder while we sat on a bench and stayed there the rest of the way home .. lots of old trees in our yard so finding the perfect spot she set the bug down .. your poem has given me that very pleasant experience all over again .. God bless lady bugs and grand daughters :)

I am glad it took you back to such a lovely memory. that is a good thing when a lady bug lands on you they're much more loving then the brown ones those bite and the yellow Japanese Beatles also bite little suckers are mean they swarm in Cedar rapids Iowa during the fall every year might of seen them here but see more red lady bugs they're Gentler then the other bugs maybe because they're Native to the USA from here and not from some other country. they're nicer and full of so much love. The red lady bugs

I loved the poem and you had made me think too. It has been so long since I have seen one. We have a lot of frog; live in the woods but use to see them in the spring. New poem: Where have my lady bugs gone? Ha...maybe. God Bless you.

we have frogs here but they seem to be hiding we have them colored poisonous ones too and just regular frogs like green tree frogs and toad frogs but we get lots of red lady bugs here and some other poisonous things here but we stay pretty safe I love it here home is where the heart is and I fell in love with Georgia it is Beautiful here such a nice town and Dragon flies and Monarch butterflies here black in yellow blue ones and orange ones I love the orange ones and black and yellow ones the monarch is my favorite Butterfly I'm in Georgia USA not far from Atlanta the Atlanta Falcons North Georgia is where we are at. I love the woods too very peaceful hope you and your family are staying warm. Blessings. Benita

Conservation groups are pushing for putting the Monarch on endangered list. My friend in Fl. has poisenous frogs; we don't. And I love the Dragon Flies, so elegant, amazing really. I'm glad you love your home and town. My husband will have watched the Atlanta Falcons; not much for watching sports. We have many, many poisenous snakes; we built a home in the forest; so have to be careful, but that has taken away my most favorite pasttime, walking in the woods and it is rarely cold in the low state of South Carolina; we live near Lake Marion, in a small town.
