1955's that was beauty what Happened ?

TIME magazine's definition of a perfect body in 1955 in the picture now what happened to the world Sickly skinny woman are beautiful Curvy Healthy is Beautiful.

 I am curvy and beautiful

with hips not fat nor  too small

to break.

But I am tinny not

so skinny that I look

like I need to be in a hospital.

We need the world to say

this is beautiful like the 1955

year was.

Stop girls from starving

themselves.

I never knew my figure

looked so much the same.

I am a curvy woman not 

a plus  sized woman

I'd  be swimming in those

clothes.

Most think curvy woman

are plus size like big not

all of us are.

I am tall but I don't wear

a zero or a size 5 but I'm

not a plus size either.

I'm not a big woman

either I am strong but I

won't break.

Woman in the 1955's

now that's beauty what

happened?

But I am fragile in

same places most woman are.

Now to ones beautiful

is sickly skinny woman.

This should come back

1955's woman with curves and

healthy Beautiful.

Now her figure looks

just like mine I was looking

at how beauty was then.

Curvy woman are not

plus size many to me are

like  the lady in this picture.

So tell me what's beautiful

to you to me it is Healthy not sickly.

The Lady in the Photo her figure looks just like mine never
knew they were so curvy in the 1955's and my husband agrees that
her figure looks like mine now to some beautiful is sickly skinny woman
curvy Healthy woman like in this picture is Beautiful to me and I do feel
beautiful but I just act normal so many try in find it in surgery and make up
and in Jewelry and it isn't there at all it is in your heart but you must love the
skin you're in and take care of you're self and be healthy too.

I wrote a poem about this a while back that I'd like you to read.... That is that most people are attracted by what a person is, not what they look like... and fashions in shapeliness come and go... look at old masters paintings or Greek sculptures, look at different ethic groups and what they like in a body... You never can tell!

I know but this was for women
not accepting themselves and wanting
to be a different body too I write about
a lot of that but it's more a person personality
confidence kindness compassion and men love curvy woman because we can bare more children and it's very true and I was never fat as a baby or ever any of my life but I've learned to love myself even from being bullied as a child and learned they were jealous and I've had many experiences of one's being jealous of me but I walk away brush it off but I know these things you tell me and it's also not wanting to be someone else and loving yourself.

The women I see in ads look like skin and bones which is unrealistic. Many young girls are influenced by media and get sick over it. It goes to show how much societies values have changed.

I agree I struggled with this
to love my figure even though
I wasn't fat as a teenager I'm
what call a hourglass figure but
never been fat it was just Hollywood
others jealously and bullies but I grew
to love my curvy 's and I see the beautiful
me others see and I try in be an inspiration
to those that struggle with these things.

I have a Imagination and I know what you're saying. I look with my heart not my eyes
some look with their eyes and Judge but if one is so skinny they need help
it is Sick to me how some mistreat their bodies to look beautiful when it isn't even
my own sister knows this an she is a size 5 but she isn't sickly looking either :) she's healthy.

yes :)) we men look in a mirror and see Adonis no matter the beer roll surrounding us ... women look in the mirror and see horror when beauty is already theirs .. please forgive my extremes ;)

some woman can't see that true but I don't see myself as fat but then I don't look in the mirror I am happy with my body and take care of myself my husband is happy with how my body looks but I don't care what others think I just take care of myself my mother is a Nurse so that and I'm a Trained BSA = Boy Scouts of America Life Guard so I love swimming and sports and when I am doing anything I am a Trained BSA Assistant Scout master so they're all boys I am in a way more used to boys then girls LOL I was a Tom boy as a child playing in the dirt and Mud when I grew out of my wanting to be clean stage I was that way cause I was very quiet and a shy child from how cruelly the world treated me but I am a Adult now it gave me strength :) it is more Muscle for me and my Height is why I a not a size 5 be like high waters on me LOL... I have my Mother mom Figure when she was young and my mom said Grandma had a luscious Figure. 16teen and 20 size or pulse size too big for me so I am happy I know I'm healthy and I pray for the ladies that need to loose weight due to health so they're not diabetic and ones that need to gain some weight more color in their face I have nieces that are smaller then me but they are healthy they could be Models but they would never starve themselves like the ones that think sick sickly skinny is sexy and I've been asked to Model as well you need some meat one your bones and my heart goes out to young and older woman that struggle it breaks my heart. Na you're doing fine I am around men all the time I have 3 Nieces and a niece in law Taylor my niece turned 22 August 9 she is a new mom had a baby July 17th and he is so cute and Karas my Niece will be 17teen this month and my Niece in law Jessica Turned 20 Jan. 26th My Youngest Niece Ansley Turned 4 May 25th Taylor lives on her own good mom and very responsible but she is my Brother girl and Karas is also but she lives in France with her mother, Ansley Is my sisters Then she has 3 boys fro first marriage Seth 22 Dylan 17teen Chandler 15teen so I have a Son He's 14teen an I watched those three Nephews as Babies and I Have a older brother and I don't get Offended I am the calm one I the Family so no worries you did nothing wrong.

I love the message you are sending in this poem. It is true, woman are held to a ridiculous standard these days to be super skinny (and even super models don't look like what is shown in the magazines, they are photoshopped to lengthen their legs and airbrushed to look flawless). No one can be that "model perfect" not even models, so why should we be trying to. I think that as long as you are being healthy about it, you are beautiful. Some are born with their super skinny figures, some are blessed with curves. The point is that we should work with what we have and not strive to be something unattainable. Thank you for this thought provoking piece.

1955 was when my mom was born. o.o
Most women in my family are plus size gals, except for my sisters, Brandy, Crystal, and Allie.
I've been told I was fat since I was VERY young and I remember arguing when I was four that I wasn't when I knew I was xD
Denial.
Lately I've been wording out so I may just look like you someday. =3
I never want to be a walking skeleton but I don't want to be fat anymore either.
Anywho, this is a beautiful write!

Now this is right up my ally.. I have such a problem with the media trying to say you have to be skinny in order to be beautiful, personally I like healthy curves. Stick figures are for drawing… plus so many ladies are so malnurished because they are not eating to fit this idealism put forth by society.
I want to go back to the days when women like Marilyn Monroe was considered sexy.
