Corduroy Bear

Corduroy Bear

A Poem by Benita-Staebell M - KindredPoet
"

Inspired from looking at old 70's and 80's pictures of toys and things I had as a child.

"

She carried her brown

Corduroy  Bear

wherever she went.

His name was Brown

Bear he was carried

by the end of his paw.

The sweet memories

of Childhood.

When we were little

our mothers read us

the story about

Corduroy the Bear.

Soft scruffy brown fur

and he had on green

Overalls.

Small stuffed Bear with

small black  button

eyes,

  He had on stitching's

with Patches.

About Corduroy The Bear .

Have you ever dreamed of being locked in a department store at night? The endearing story of Corduroy paints a picture of the adventures that might unfold (for a teddy bear at least) in such a situation. When all the shoppers have gone home for the night, Corduroy climbs down from the shelf to look for his missing button. It's a brave new world! He accidentally gets on an elevator that he thinks must be a mountain and sees the furniture section that he thinks must be a palace.

That's bizarre that you should write this. While reading it I remember I had a robot from the show 'lost in space' I used to carry around with me. haha I remember it clearly now.

Wouldn't it be funny to see the stuffed animals conversing with each other. I think I remember the bear you're talking about too.

Nicely done Benita.

My daughter had her Winnie the pool. She held it day and night. Your poem took me back to the days when life was simple and beautiful. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry my friend.
