Grandma My Irish Twin

Grandma My Irish Twin

A Poem by Benita-Staebell M - KindredPoet
"

Everybody Loves an Irish Girl... Happy early saint Patrick's Day...

"

                 Grandma O'Brian you're

                 my Irish Twin.

              Someone see's a photo

of you they think it is me.

                My Beautiful Irish

                 Great Grandma,

                   You were a graceful

                      Dancer

                    Breathtaking beauty

                    I never got to meet,

                    Your life was short

                   lived only till

                             22years old.

                      Graceful beauty

                        Ballet  Dancer.

                        Remember the

                       Irish that fought

                       and died today.

                       Remember your

                        Irish ancestors

                        that fought in

                         the war today.

                      Irish beauty  your

                     life was short lived.

                     Gracefully as  she

                    dances across the floor.

                   Tall gentle loving beauty,

                   My Irish twin when they

                     see your photo they

                     think  it's  me.

                      This is my Beautiful

                      Irish great grandma,

                      My twin reflection

                       of you,  I see her

                      when I look into

                          the  mirror.

                    Remember your

                     Irish ancestor's

                    that fought and died

                     today.

oh man! tugs my heart for sure ... can sense your Grandma O'Brian .. and never could have a better Irish name ... on my father's side we came for County Donegal in the north of Ireland .. on me ma's side from the highlands of Scotland and a tweek from Sweden .. so many Irish died .. in so many ways ... our American history forgets how the Irish (as Catholic and Irish) were hard pressed and persecuted along with other minorities ... both here and in Ireland ... i am grateful for your remembrances and celebration of St. Patty's day ... God bless you!

A beautiful poem for your Grandmother. I enjoyed the tale. I had many Irish friends in the Army. They knew how to drink and have some fun. I like how you made your Grandmother dance and you were her twin. No weakness in the amazing poetry. Thank you.

You are welcome this one touches the soul that is the key to poetry in my humble opinion
I'm less than half Irish on my mom's side and God knows what on my dad's side. I don't know much about my Irish relatives but it is great to have a holiday to celebrate them.
I like that you wrote a poem for your grandma, you can really see the love in it and the green writing adds a nice touch! ^^
