Cold Anger

Cold Anger

A Poem by Gideon Thomas
"

Anger is not the fury we feel, but the actions we make.

"
Temper flaring, fists raging, heart running...
This anger feel not I.
Heart calms, fists steady, head cools, collected.
No qualms, plan ready, all steps inspected.
Anger showing, masked behind a smile.
Rage growing, plotting all the while.
How to hurt? not with a blade, with thoughts, looks, emotions,
words curt, plan made, passion has no notion.
No move to make, no actions quick or swift,
long will it take, to wound, make deep the rift.
Hard looks, few words, dutifully obey.
Blunt blows, long swords, impending pain.
Victory seen in the eyes, victim loses glee.
Joy not found in sad demise, but anger now runs free.
