Of Choices Made...

Of Choices Made...

A Poem by Gideon X. A. Elson

Of choices made within our strife,
Carefully we must consider,
For lasting effects on our lives,
Errors fester leave us bitter.

By no means easy feats are these,
To conquer conflict in our affairs,
And often brings us to our knees,
When triumph we can't o'er our despair

It's said that when the night seems darkest,
in moments when all hope seems lost,
For tis then when the sun draws nearest,
And bear we the fruits not just the costs,

What doesn't kill us surely tries,
For this we must remain prepared,
And with each triumph we are more wise,
For into darkness we have stared.

Life is a series of choices, and those choices put us on a steep learning curve. If we are quick learners (or lucky) we don't make the same mistakes again.
