Entreated MaidenA Poem by Gideon X. A. Elson
On this cold, and wintry sunrise.
I've found some solace, to my surprise. Love pangs the heart, and leaves it blue. Sad moments when, these words ring true. A wasted wish, but true desire. Doth burn my heart, with its cruel fire. That you would dream, a dream of me. And then together, we would be. For how could fate, deny you so. Radiant maiden, how you glow. Matters not, if you feel this way. These are but words, I put at play. That bring solace, to my surprise. On this cold, and wintry sunrise. Yes I know, how you truly feel. Your love for me, has lost its zeal. It saddens me, I will not lie. But not so much, I will not try. To reignite, that fading fire. And reclaim our love, from the mire. But would you, could you, help me there. Brilliant mistress, o so fair. Tis sunlight that, I ask you shower. Upon this gentle, true loves flower. If done, then solace to my surprise. On this cold, and wintry sunrise. © 2022 Gideon X. A.
