Faux spark circumstance

Faux spark circumstance

A Poem by Gideon X. A. Elson

From my deepest regrets and to my most bizarre desires,
The fewest words light the most intense fires,
And I must apologize if it all seems abnormal,
But mustn't we admit the circumstance informal?
To have not a thing be mundane o how I'd like things to be,
And to have not one wish fulfilled my hearts reality,
So when we leave for new pastures to find grasses said greener,
Let us journey with a hopeful and gallant demeanor,
But alas upon arrival we find aspirations elusive yet again
Let us not be downtrodden about what could have been.

Will look forward to reading more. Beautiful words on the longing of the human spirit. And again, the old Masters lurk in your verse. Amazing job!

"Of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these: It might have been." Very good rhyming here, in this offering about aspirations and frustrations. Not sure if this one reflects personal experience or exhortation to others, but the last line is great advice. Water under the bridge is water under the bridge.
