Deceiving HeartsA Poem by Gideon X. A. ElsonWhat lies do you tell yourself daily?
Forgive me for I will bother you no longer,
I do not know what it was that I expected, Perhaps untrue my aim directed, No more unveilings to be squandered, Your opinion not by me will be pondered, And just how long can I maintain this deception? That I do not yearn for your affection, A deceitful distortion of my hearts true passion, Intricately weaved in a dissenting fashion. © 2022 Gideon X. A. ElsonReviews
