Oh Spring ~ Gideon RoosA Poem by Gideon T RoosA poem about love. It aims to capture the way a youth might see love, and how love can change one's heart.Oh spring, oh spring, oh gentle spring I do think you the kindest thing Oh come to me, and gently cling And to my heart, your love do bring
For as I watch you come to place And chis’l away at loving pace The chill of winter’s cold embrace Away with summer’s brutal grace
I wonder to my lonesome heart What gentle kindness is your art I can not help but want to start To think of you my darling dart
For soft as your deep core does beat Though never on my love do eat And as we walk far down the street My heart it doth sure skip a beat
Under the stars and in the black You stare at me and I stare back You leave deep in my heart your tracks And mend in me my deepest cracks
Oh come to me my golden cow The bovine which my heart endowed The one thing you must bring me now The hoe with which my heart to plough
Oh spring, oh spring, oh loving spring I do think you my dearest thing For surely as I hear you sing You pull my heart, my violin string © 2015 Gideon T Roos |
