Feathers and glueA Poem by Gianna_GraceThis poem is about my crush. Enjoy! (:When I first looked at you, my heartbeat grew. I understood what this was in a blink, So I tore down the thought, threw it in the sea of my mind, and let it sink. And so it sunk, The only remainder of it being my heart's peculiar plunk. I didn't know it then, but in made its way back soon, I was scared of rejection so my heart had to change its tune. With that, I soon became lost in a field of everything you, All that you said stuck to my hands like feathers on glue. I appreciated how you opened yourself up, I drank you in, and you did the same, we both loved what was in each cup. You were the only one who ever liked all of me, You complimented my laugh and called me pretty. But then, one day, I came across something strange. I felt a pit in my stomach, when I realized you had gone through a change. You liked me, for real. The problem, though, was I didn't like me. So, I did what I had to. I looked at you, whose soul was nothing but whole, and peeled off that glue, separating myself from you.
