Higher Force

Higher Force

A Poem by Franki Valerie

"
Through all of these years
Of our mixed emotion
There’s just one thing
To which we all show devotion

Opinions may differ
But one things the same
The love of higher power
(Or the lust for fame)

But focus on the one
‘Cus that’s why I’m here
To question this power
Which we love, yet fear

I’m talking of course
Of the big shot upstairs
Asking why we wonder
If he really cares

The answer should be simple
Right there in our faces
Why question it all?
Why argue such cases?

Suffering and Pain
Death and Divorce
Are they just hard luck?
Or our ‘beloved’ high force?
