Wedding Ties

Wedding Ties

A Poem by Franki Valerie
"

From an exercise in English Language, High School.

"
Never in my life has a mirror image caused so much pain...

The old silk dress,
Trailing
My heart pounding
Paining
Comforting words,
Failing
Tears on my cheek
Falling

Later, he flicks back my veil
Poisons my mouth with his tongue
To seal the deal, my fate
The ropes clasp my hands, feet, mouth.
False smiles, as bright and attractive
As balloons, bobbing in the corners
Of the room, hypnotically madening
As i kill the wedding cake...
